What I Got For Christmas

Christmas is over and I can’t still be okay with it. I mean, I waited for this season for so long, I even wished for a White Christmas this year, but all we got was a Full Moon and a 70 degrees Fahrenheit weather PLUS it’s been raining for almost a week! Instead of having White Christmas, we had Rainy + Humid Christmas in New Jersey!

Back in the Philippines, Christmas starts on September. As per the malls and most of the shops are already decorating for Christmas! Radio stations starts to play Christmas Tunes, which basically what I miss when celebrating Christmas in the Philippines. Also, if you were commuting using Public Jeep expect some carolers who will jump in your way and sing you some Christmas carols. That is Christmas in the Philippines, or that is the Christmas I know.

This was our fourth year celebrating Christmas after ten long years of waiting, guess good things really come to those who patiently wait. It was a Friday, and as a Filipino, we would have a big dinner we call Noche Buena where we eat at 12 MN and open gifts afterwards. But this year, we changed a bit of it. We had dinner at 4 PM and opened gifts at around 6 PM. Actually, I posted a blog about how we celebrated Christmas in a different tradition (from a Filipino tradition to somewhat American) READ HERE.

And as I have been blogging for quite a long time now (back in Tumblr) I would always post what I get and what I received on Christmas. Bringing back the routine, here are some of the things I got for Christmas. As per what some of the Youtuber Vloggers I have watched over the year, here is a little disclaimer about this blog post. I do not brag about these things, I am just sharing what I got and documenting what happened in my 2015 as I would always read them when time passes by.

Let’s begin.

You might not know as I don’t really bring in what I do for living but I work as a cashier in a coffee shop as I would always call it. And we always get regular customers who order the same coffee for almost everyday. And most of the times, my dad and I would prepare their coffee right before they enter the door. More like they ordered on a drive-thru thing. So this year, we got tons of Christmas cards, one gave us a towel and we have this regular customer who loves traveling and would always give us “pasalubong” as he comes home – for Christmas he gave us assorted cake loaf.

And one of our customer decided to make this year’s a little special. Well last year, I got a card from her with my name on it, and this Christmas 2015, she gave me another card with “My Future Daughter-In-Law” written in it, instead of my name.

And here are the things I got from my family.

This is a gift from my youngest sister. I have been bugging them for a long time (more like since August) to buy me the Selp-Helf book by Miranda Sings. I first saw this book on Barnes and Nobles in New York and I didn’t bought it since I am saving up some money that time and I am “kuripot”. I got PewDiePie’s book sometime first week of December, but she doesn’t want me to post it anywhere or else, I won’t get any gifts from her anymore.

And she’s asked me to give my top three gifts and this is one of them. I remember giving her three ideas: (1) Selp-Helf & This Book Loves You; (2) a cross necklace; and (3) calligraphy stuff.

Then she gave me this one too. I am not really into wallets and purses, if I do, I only prefer Coach handbags and wallets since that is the cheapest I could get. And it was really to my surprise that they purchased me this thing right here, I even wanted to cry as soon as I opened the gifts, cause you know, this girl right here is too emotional — ALL THE TIME!

The Polaroid Snap was from my mom. She asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and I have been eyeing this for quite a long time (since the day I have seen it on a Best Buy paper) and I asked her if she could buy me this instead of the other Polaroid Camera. I tested it, and it turned out great actually. And the Ollo Clip 4-in-1 lens for my iPhone 6s Plus was from my other sister, I also ask her to buy it for me since she is bugging me what I want for Christmas.

And of course, I had to try the Polaroid Snap for a selfie, and this is the result. It really turned out pretty good, I mean, I can’t take good selfie on my DSLR since it is too big, and on a Polaroid Mini 8 since my sister has it already. I might or might NOT do a review about this, I shall take this Polaroid outdoors first!

And this is from my momma! I have been deciding whether to get myself a necklace with my initial on it or nameplate necklace with my name in it, but then some of the stores here don’t have the name bar I wanted, so I gave up. Good thing I didn’t buy one online or else I might not be able to use it.

And this is from my friend. She really knew I love to change earrings since I had a third piercing. And this is so much better, because I have tons of choices! Thanks Agi and Yana! ❤

I also got a huge handbag from my dad, but I was too lazy to take a photo of it, but I love it. Probably the best handbag I have, besides the Coach I always use. Well most of my handbags were all from Marshalls so to get one not from there is actually great!

PS: The images used were all edited using Snapseed (adjusted too much brightness and played a little contrast) and VSCO app (HB2 preset).

Well, I enjoyed opening the gifts and but still missing out how Filipinos celebrate Christmas back home. I hope you all had a good Christmas as much as I do.

I will be back next year for a new blog posts and improved blogging schedule! 🙂

What about you: What’s your favorite Christmas present? And I hope you had a great Holidays! 🙂
